HeffyDoodle Blog Hop

I’m really excited to join in the Heffy Doodle second release blog hop and showcase some of Lesley Oman’s amazing new stamps! She has gathered some wonderful crafters so continue to the end of the post for instructions to be in for a chance to win some fantastic Heffy Doodle goodies!

My Card

My card uses the Warm Hugs stamp set and coordinating dies. This is definitely my favourite set from this release!

Eskimo Kisses (HeffyDoodle Bloghop)

I started out with an A6 top-folding white card base, blending on some Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks. I then cut three additional layers using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Mountain Border Dies and Stitched Hillside Border Dies, inking just the very edges with the Salty Ocean Distress Oxide to match the background. I layered these over the inked background and added some white gel pen dots to the sky to give the look of falling snow.

I then stamped out the cute little fisherman, his fishing rod, the bucket and two fish from the set, colouring them in with my Copic markers in shades that coordinated with the background. At the same time I also stamped out the little hole in the ice, coloured and covered in with some Glossy Accents to give that watery effect. I cut out the coloured images with the coordinating dies, foam mounting them and arranging them on the background. For the fishing rod, I used a piece of white cotton to attach the little fish as his catch!

I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners to cut out a banner in black cardstock so I could white heat emboss three of the sentiments. I foam mounted this at the top of the card

Finishing touches of some clear Wink of Stella, sparkling clear sequins and white gel pen make this a cute little winter card!

Crazy Croc Christmas with HeffyDoodle

Handmade Cards
Crazy Christmas Crocs (Heffy Doodles)

I think you all know by now that my favourite set in the HeffyDoodle first release are the crazy crocs – I could make cards with these guys all day long. I made an extra background when I made the last card so I thought the green crocs would look fantastic.

I watercoloured the background with my Kuretaki Gansai Tambi paints in exactly the same way as I did for the Beary Merry Christmas card, only I left out the darker shade of purple. I then die cut this with an Avery Elle Wonky Stitches rectangle die and adhered to a white top folding A6 cardbase.

The croc is from the Happy Snappy Crocs set and I stamped the craziest pose and wine bottle with some Copic friendly MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink on some ClareFontaine 210gsm DCP Paper. I chose some YG Copics to contrast with the warmer background and coloured him in. I’ve had the Santa hat lying around on my desk for a week or so (I think it’s from the MFT Beast Friends set) and it was a perfect size for the crazy croc.

Crazy Christmas Crocs (Heffy Doodles)

I gold heat embossed the sentiment from the Neat and Tangled Beary Merry set on some white cardstock and found I needed some more gold to balance it all out. I don’t actually have any gold metallic cardstock (something I will definitely have to resolve for the festive season!) so I made a strip with the watercolour paints and layered the sentiment over the top. I then adhered the croc and his festive accessories on top and just had to add these crazy googly eyes to make him a little more crazy!

Some Wink of Stella and a few white gel pen touches and this card will be one I send to a crazy friend! 🙂

Stand by for more projects featuring these guys!

Rainbow Birthday Hugs with HeffyDoodle

Handmade Cards
Unbearable Birthday (HeffyDoodle)

The Unbearable Without You set is my second favourite set from the new HeffyDoodle release. Paired with a rainbow and some clouds, I think it makes a bright and colourful birthday card!

I stamped the adorable bear and the clouds onto some ClareFontane 210gsm DCP Paper using some Copic friendly MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I coloured them in using some E30/50 Copic markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I used the Rainbow dies from Paper Smooches to cut out a rainbow and again used some Copics in rainbow shades to colour in the rainbow stripes.

On a top folding A6 card base I blended some Distress Oxide ink in Broken China in the top two thirds. I then adhered the die cuts over the background with some liquid glue, stamped a sentiment from the set and covered the pieces in some Wink of Stella.

Clean, simple, but sure to put a smile on any recipient’s face!
