The end of last month marked my Grandad’s 93rd birthday. He’s not doing too well so I made him a special card to cheer him up and remember when he used to watercolour. I used the Amazing You stamp set from Altenew, watercoloured with my Kuretaki Gansai Tambi paints.
I started out with some Daler Rowney Aquarelle coldpressed watercolour cardstock and stamped a flower arrangement using stamps from the Altenew Amazing You stamp set and some Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I had to do a bit of creative masking with some post it notes in places but it didn’t take too long. I made sure the ink was dry before bringing out the watercolours and painting in some vibrant colour.
When done, I gold heat embossed the sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Ahoy, Matey stamp set. I felt it needed a little more so flicked some gold, green and blue paint flecks onto the background. Mounted on some Lawn Fawn Chilli Pepper cardstock, this card was a wonderful gift for my Grandad.
